What are the advantages of laser dentistry?
Laser dentistry avoids incisions through the use of a targeted laser treatment.  Without incisions or stitches, bleeding is dramatically lessened, and recovery time is significantly reduced.  Patients are in and out of the office quickly, with no down time!

How does laser dentistry treat gum disease?
Gum disease is treated with dental laser by targeting and vaporizing diseased tissue.  Lasers are a large improvement on the traditional, more invasive, procedure that used scalpels to cut out the tissue.  Lasers can be tuned to vaporize only the diseased tissue, leaving much more healthy tissue, unlike the traditional periodontal procedure.

How many treatments will I need for periodontal disease?
Most periodontal patients will be able to complete their laser gum therapy in just two two-hour sessions!  Treatment time with a laser is significantly reduced over standard gum therapy and surgery.

How long is the recovery after laser gum treatment?
Because the laser has the ability to automatically seal blood vessels and nerve endings, there is no down time with laser treatment.  Patients do not have to worry about missing work or other commitments with this convenient alternative.
 
How costly is laser therapy?
Laser therapy in many cases proves to be less expensive than alternative treatments, such as gum surgery.  Dr. Massa will go over cost structures with you and help you find out if laser treatment is covered under your current insurance plan.  We also offer financing options for qualified patients.
