At Massa Dental Center, patients in the community of Naples, FL can ask our team about full mouth reconstruction services. From start to finish, our dental staff can help patients restore their smile even when tooth loss and damage have occurred.
What is full mouth reconstruction?
Full mouth reconstruction is a series of procedures that are performed to completely rejuvenate the smile when there are various issues present. Drs. James Massa, Daniel Cocris, and Stacey Vlachos can evaluate a patient and determine what areas of the smile need to be repaired. Full mouth reconstruction can address many concerns, including:
• Missing teeth
• Chipped or broken teeth
• Spaced or misaligned teeth
• Severely decayed teeth
• Permanently stained teeth
The restorations used to address these concerns will vary from patient to patient, based on their unique needs. Our team will tailor a treatment plan for the individual to ensure that their needs are met. We want our patients to be open and honest with our dental staff to ensure we are giving them the smile they deserve. Patients should also have a realistic expectation as to what can be achieved with cosmetic dental work.
What procedures may be performed?
Full mouth reconstruction often starts with getting the smile healthy again. This may mean procedures such as scaling and root planing to address periodontal disease, tooth-colored fillings to fix teeth with decay, reestablish a proper foundation with bone grafting or jaw reconstruction, and removing teeth that are beyond repair with surgical or simple extractions. Then, the next step is to replace any teeth that may be missing from the smile. This can be done with dentures, dental bridges, and dental implants. Once the smile is functioning again, more cosmetic issues can be discussed and treatments such as dental crowns, dental veneers, and possibly even orthodontics. The procedures used for one patient will not be used for another based on the special characteristics of each individual smile!
