Dr. Tracey Hughes believes the foundation of exceptional dentistry is a strong, trusting relationship between the doctor and patient. She strives to create a warm, comfortable, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, respected and at ease.

With nearly three decades of experience, Dr. Hughes takes a comprehensive approach to dentistry. Her advanced training in physiologic cosmetic dentistry, TMJ disorders and sleep-disordered breathing, and full-mouth rehabilitation allows her to evaluate how the teeth, muscles, jaw joints, airway, and supporting structures work together. Her goal is not simply to treat an individual tooth, but to understand the bigger picture and help patients achieve long-term comfort, function, health, and a smile they feel good about.

Professional Journey

After graduating from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1998, Dr. Hughes spent nearly 20 years owning and leading a comprehensive restorative dental practice, an experience that shaped the way she practices dentistry today. Practice ownership gave her the opportunity to care for patients over many years and, in many cases, through multiple phases of life. That continuity allowed her to see firsthand how thoughtful treatment planning, careful execution, and long-term maintenance influence the health and longevity of a patient’s smile.

Equally important were the relationships built along the way. Dr. Hughes came to value the trust that develops when patients know they are being heard, not rushed, and never judged. She believes some of the most rewarding moments in dentistry come from caring for patients over time, understanding what matters to them, and helping them make thoughtful decisions about their health. Dr. Hughes is excited to bring that same relationship-focused philosophy and depth of experience to Massa Dental Center and the Southwest Florida community.

Commitment to Excellence & Advanced Care

Dr. Hughes pursued advanced training in physiologic and cosmetic dentistry at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies including courses in TMJ disorders & sleep-disordered breathing. After completing LVI’s rigorous advanced core continuum in 2010, and later earning her LVI Fellowship, she was selected to serve as an LVI clinical instructor, teaching other dentists from around the country the latest advancements in physiologic cosmetic dentistry. In 2019, she began a three-year term as a board member for the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics, where she had the honor of collaborating with and learning from colleagues across the globe.

Dr. Hughes is certified in the LANAP protocol and has been utilizing laser dentistry since 2007 to treat periodontal disease in a minimally invasive way. Using the Periolase MVP-7, Dr. Hughes provides a regenerative alternative to traditional gum surgery that supports the body’s natural healing process while reducing discomfort and recovery time.

Today, Dr. Hughes remains dedicated to staying at the forefront of dental advancements, continuously building on her knowledge and skills to provide her patients with the highest level of care. Most importantly, Dr. Hughes looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients at Massa Dental Center and creating an environment where every person feels heard, respected, comfortable, and confident in the care they receive.
